Easy and tasty mutton birysni in pressure cooker

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. For cooking the mutton : 1/2 kg mutton with bone,2 cups water ,1/4 tsp turmeric powder,2 tesp red chilli powder and 2 cups of water.
  2. For the Biryani:
  3. 2 1/2 cup seeraga sambha
  4. 3 tbsp oil
  5. 6 tbsp Ghee
  6. Few cashew pieces
  7. 1"cinamom stick,4 cloves,2 cardamom,1" bay leaf and a small piece of kalpasi
  8. 2 medium sized onion sliced
  9. 2 medium tomato sliced
  10. 3 green chilli slit
  11. 1 1/2 tesp ginger garlic paste
  12. 4 tbsp yogurt
  13. Juice of a lime
  14. 2 tbsp each of chopped mint and coriander leaves
  15. 2 tesp chilli powder
  16. salt as per taste
  17. 1/4 tesp turmeric powder
  18. 1 3/4 cup Water

Instructions

  1. In a pressure cooker add mutton,2 cups of water,turmeric,salt and chilli powder
  2. Let cook in low heat for 4 to 5 whistle
  3. Wash and soak rice in water
  4. When the pressure has released,open pour in a bowl and set aside.
  5. Place the cooker back on low flame
  6. Add oil and 4 tbsp ghee when hot add all the spices given,to this add green chilli and ginger garlic paste,saute for a minute.
  7. Add onions saute light brown
  8. To this add tomato cook till mushy
  9. Now add the mutton pieces,yogurt,lime juice ,mint and coriander,stir to mix well
  10. To this add chilli powder,turmeric,and salt,stir and pour 1 3/4 cup water plus the biryani liquid,let it come to a boil.
  11. Add the drained rice,stir once gently,let it boil for 2 to 3 minutes.
  12. When you see the rice lightly puffed up , drizzle 2 tbsp ghee on top and close the lid with the weight,and reduce to very low flame.
  13. Let it cool for 15 minutes,in the very low flame.
  14. Once done off the stove,and let it remain closed for 10 minutes
  15. Open and give it a gentle stir
  16. Serve hot mutton biryani with raitha...
