Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 500 gms mutton
  2. 1 onion, finely chopped
  3. 2 Tomatoes, finely chopped
  4. 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  5. 1 tablespoon red chilly powder
  6. 2 tablespoons cumin - coriander powder
  7. 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  8. Whole garam masala
  9. 3 tablespoons oil
  10. Water, required
  11. Salt, required
  12. To Roast & Grind
  13. 1 tablespoon peppercorns
  14. 1/2 tablespoons cumin seeds
  15. 2 cloves
  16. 2 cardamom
  17. 3 GARLIC CLOVES
  18. 1 inch Ginger Piece
  19. 3 dried red chilly
  20. Handful of Curry leaves

Instructions

  1. In a pressure cooker, take cleaned mutton, ginger garlic paste, cumin -coriander powder, red chilly powder, salt and 2 cups water.
  2. Pressure cook for 3 whistle or until mutton is 3/4 th cooked
  3. In a kadai, dry roast all ingredients given under 'to roast and grind '. When cools down, blend it to coarse powder. Set aside
  4. Pre heat a pan, add oil. Add whole garam masala.
  5. Add onion, cook till translucent.
  6. Add tomato, cook till it mashes well.
  7. Now add powdered masala and mix well. Add pressure cooked mutton along with curry.
  8. Mix well and cook it till the gravy becomes thick.
  9. Serve hot with rice.
