Traditionally we call this as ivy gourd hulimenasina koddel ,koddel is a sambar or curry.ivy gourd curry with raw masala of fresh Coconut flavored with non roasted masala.To great authentic taste,one should use coconut oil and fresh Coconut for this curry.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Ivy gourd.....1/4 kg
  2. Red byadige chilly....8+1
  3. Fresh Coconut.....1 bowl
  4. Garlic.....10 cloves
  5. Red chilli powder....1tea spoon
  6. Coconut oil.....2 spoons
  7. Saltto taste
  8. Tamarind.... gooseberry size
  9. Turmeric powder....1/4 spoon
  10. Mustard.....1/4 spoon
  11. Curry leaves.....2 springs

Instructions

  1. PREPARED IVY GOURD
  2. ADD WATER
  3. ADD SALT AND CHILLY POWDER
  4. CLOSE THE LID AND BOIL UNTIL TWO WHISTLE
  5. ADD GRATED COCONUT & REDCHILLY
  6. ADD TURMERIC POWDER
  7. ADD TAMARIND
  8. ADD WATER
  9. GRIND THEM
  10. ADD GRINDED MASALA IN TO COOKED IVY GOURD
  11. ADD SUFFICIENT WATER
  12. ADD LITTLE SALT
  13. ADD JAGGERY
  14. ADD CURRY LEAVES
  15. ADD COCONUT OIL
  16. ADD CRUSHED GRALIC
  17. ADD MUSTARD
  18. ADD RED CHILLI AND CURRY LEAVES LEAVES
  19. TEMPERING READY, AND ADD KODILU.
