Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Coarse Rawa 4 cups
  2. Green chillies 6 to 8 finely chopped
  3. Cashews 6 to 8, broken into small pcs
  4. Peanuts 1 tbsp
  5. Mustard seeds 2 tsp
  6. Cumin seeds 2 tsp
  7. Chana dal 1 tbsp
  8. Curry leaves 1 sprig
  9. Oil 5 tbsp
  10. Salt 4 tsp

Instructions

  1. HEAT 5 TBSP OIL, ADD 2 TSP MUSTARD SEEDS, LET THEM SPLUTTER
  2. ADD 2 TSP CUMIN SEEDS, 1 TBSP CHANA DAL, FRY FOR A FEW SECONDS
  3. ADD 2 TBSP PEANUTS, 6-7 CASHEWS, FRY UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN
  4. ADD 6 FINELY CHOPPED GREEN CHILLIES, 1 SPRIG CURRY LEAVES
  5. ADD 4 CUPS SEMOLINA, SAUTE ON LOW HEAT FOR 10-12 MINS
  6. ADD 4 TSP SALT, MIX, TAKE OFF HEAT, COOL THOROUGHLY, STORE IN AN AIR TIGHT JAR
  7. FOR THE UPMA : HEAT 2 TSP OIL, ADD 1 SLICED ONION, FRY TILL TRANSLUCENT
  8. ADD A 1/2 INCH PIECE OF CRUSHED GINGER, SAUTE
  9. ADD 2 CUPS WATER, BRING IT TO A BOIL
  10. WHEN THE WATER STARTS BUBBLING, ADD 1 CUP OF THE READY INSTANT UPMA MIX
  11. STIR VIGOROUSLY TO AVOID LUMPS
  12. COOK COVERED ON SLOW HEAT FOR 5-8 MINS UNTIL DONE
  13. SERVE HOT, IT'S YUM
