ABOUT Macaroni Zarda (Meethi Macaroni) RECIPE

This is one innovative Fusion recipe fusing recipes of Indian cuisine with Italian cuisine. Making Zarda from macaroni was an experiment which by God's grace went awesome and was liked a lot by my kids. This is a recipe which need little effort but will be liked a lot by everyone because of its sheer creativity and taste.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Desi ghee 2 tsp
  2. Macaroni 1.5 cups
  3. Sugar 1 cup
  4. Water
  5. Cloves 5 no. s
  6. Chopped kaju 1 tablespoon
  7. Kishmish (raisins) 1 tablespoon
  8. Yellow food colour 1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. IN A PAN TAKE ABOUT 1 LITRES OF WATER AND KEEP ON ONE FLAME TO BOIL
  2. MEANWHILE ON ANOTHER GAS STOVE PLACE A KADHAI ON MEDIUM FLAME AND ADD 1 TSP OF DESI GHEE
  3. ADD 1.5 CUPS OF MACARONI TO THE MELTED DESI GHEE
  4. ROAST THE MACARONI
  5. AFTER ROASTING MACARONI FOR FEW MINUTES TAKE OUT THE MACARONI.
  6. WHEN WATER STARTS BOILING ADD THE ROASTED PASTA
  7. ROAST KAJU(CASHEW NUT) IN THE REMAINING GHEE
  8. KEEP ASIDE THE ROASTED CASHEWS(KAJU)
  9. WHEN THE MACARONI IS BOILED, DRAIN ALL THE WATER
  10. KEEP ASIDE
  11. NOW FOR PREPARING THE SUGAR SYRUP FOR ZARDA, PLACE A KADHAI ON MEDIUM FLAME ADD ONE TSP OF DESI GHEE
  12. ADD FEW CLOVES (LAUNG)
  13. WHEN LAUNG(CLOVE) STARTS LEAVING ITS AROMA ADD ONE CUP OF SUGAR.
  14. ADD 1 CUP OF WATER
  15. ADD 1/4 TSP OF YELLOW FOOD COLOUR
  16. KEEP STIRRING TILL SUGAR IS DISSOLVED IN THE WATER. BOIL FOR 2 MINUTES.
  17. WASH THE MACARONI WITH COLD WATER BEFORE ADDING TO CHASNI TO AVOID STICKINESS.
  18. ADD BOILED MACARONI TO THE SUGAR SYRUP(CHASNI)
  19. ADD THE ROASTED KAJU
  20. ADD THE RAISINS(KISHMISH)
  21. ADD SHREDDED COCONUT
  22. MIX EVERYTHING
  23. COVER FOR SOMETIME
  24. KEEP STIRRING IN BETWEEN TO CHECK IT DOESN'T STICK TO THE KADHAI
  25. COOK TILL ALL SUGAR SYRUP IS ABSORBED BY THE MACARONI
  26. DECORATE WITH CHOPPED NUTS BEFORE SERVING.
