ABOUT Jackfruit Zunaka RECIPE

Zunaka is Maharastrian popular vegetable dish. Here me used jackfruit to prepare Zunaka, it is very tasty and flavourful.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Coconut oil 3 tsp
  2. Red chilli 1
  3. Urad dal 1 tsp
  4. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  5. Water 3 1/2-4 cup
  6. Ginger chopped 1/2 inch
  7. Asafoetida a pinch
  8. Curry leaves few
  9. Jeera 1 tsp
  10. Green chilli 1
  11. Chopped jackfruit bulbs 2 cup
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Turmeric powder a pinch
  14. Onion medium sized 1
  15. Tomato medium sized 1
  16. Tamarind syrup 1 tsp
  17. Red chilli powder 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. HEAT 3 TSP COCONUT OIL, ADD MUSTARD SEEDS, URAD DAL AND RED CHILLI, LET IT SPLUTTER
  2. ADD ASAFOETIDA, GREEN CHILLI AND CURRY LEAVES
  3. ADD CHOPPED ONION AND FRY TILL TRANSULANT
  4. ADD CHOPPED JACKFRUIT BULBS
  5. TURMERIC POWDER, SALT TO TASTE
  6. TAMARIND SYRUP 1 TSP
  7. ADD WATER 2-3 CUP, COVER AND COOK WELL
  8. IN THE MEANTIME TAKE BESAN FLOUR, MIX WELL IN WATER TO AVOID LUMPS
  9. CHECK THE COOKNESS, MIX ONCE
  10. RED CHILLI POWDER 1 TSP
  11. CHOPPED TOMATO, COVER AND COOK FOR 2 MINUTES
  12. ADD JEERA AND GINGER
  13. ADD DISSOLVED BESAN FLOUR
  14. MIX AND COOK IN LOW FLAME TILL THICKNESS
  15. IT IS DONE, TAKE OFF FLAME AND SERVE WITH HOT RICE
