ABOUT SIMPLE VERMICELLI PUDDING RECIPE

Vermicelli pudding  is a special dessert that is made mostly on the occasion of festivals or celebrations. It is a sweet pudding made from water, sugar, vermicelli and dry fruits.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. vermicelli 250 gram
  2. Clarified Butter 4 tbsp
  3. Sugar 1/2 cup
  4. Water 2 cup
  5. Cardamom 4 (crushed)
  6. Raisins 1/4 Cup
  7. Almond 1/4 cup (chopped)
  8. Cashew 1/4 cup (chopped)
  9. Dessicated coconut 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan and add 2tbsp clarified butter. Let it melt properly. Add vermicelli and cook it on low flame until it turns a few shades darker. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
  2. Heat a pan and add 2tbsp clarified butter. Let it melt properly. Add crushed cardamom, raisins, chopped almond and chopped cashew and stir for a minute.
  3. Add water to this mixture and bring to the boil. Then add sugar and mix until it dissolves to form a syrup.
  4. Now add roasted vermicelli . Cook over low heat stirring occasionally until most of the water evaporates and mixture leaves side of pan.
  5. Pour mixture into a buttered pan and leave to set to room temperature for at least 4 hours before cutting into pieces.
  6. Garnish with dessicated coconut . Keeps fresh for a couple of days in the refrigerator.
