My mom used to prepare this dish and all time favourite item of mine. Snake gourd stuffed with khas khas , fresh coconut, green peas and potato. Ordinary vegetable turned into an exotic dish.......

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Snake gourd - 7-8 pieces ( clean halves)
  2. Boiled mashed potato - 1 cup
  3. Khaskhas paste - 1/2 cup
  4. Boiled green peas - 1/2 cup
  5. Grated coconut - 1/2 cup ( fresh)
  6. Chopped onion - 2 tbsp
  7. Chopped chillies - 1 tbsp
  8. Chopped coriander - 1/4 cup
  9. Salt
  10. Turmeric powder - 2 tsp
  11. Onion paste - 2 tbsp
  12. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  13. Chopped tomato - 1 nos
  14. Cumin powder - 1tsp
  15. Red chilly powder - 1tsp
  16. Garam masala pwd - 1/2 tsp
  17. Oil - 2-3 tbsp
  18. Maida - 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil and chopped onion saute for 2mins. Add chopped chillies, salt ,turmeric powder stir and add potato ,green peas, cook for 2 mins and add coconut and khaskhas paste . Make the stuffing to be dry and remove from the heat.
  2. Stuff the snake gourd with cooled curry and dust some maida to both sides. Deep fry the them and keep aside.
  3. Heat oil in another Kadhai and add ginger garlic paste and cook it till raw smell was gone. Add onion paste and tomato following by all the masalas . Cook the masalas till oil separated from the side, add 1 and 1/2 of water . Add stuffed snake gourd after the gravy boiling started. 2-3 mins to cook and check the salt nd sugar ( can be add 1/2 tsp sugar )
  4. Add some chopped coriander and serve .
