Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Tomatoes 2
  2. Green chilies 2
  3. Oil 1 tbsp
  4. Ghee 2 tesp
  5. Star anise 1
  6. Clove 1
  7. Cinnamon 1"
  8. Salt 3/4 tesp
  9. Red chilli powder 1/2 tesp
  10. Garam masala 3/4 tesp
  11. Cream/malai 2 tbsp
  12. Cashews 1/3 cup
  13. Makhana/ foxnut 1/2 cup
  14. Boiled peas 1/4 cup
  15. Kasoori methi 1 tesp
  16. Green coriander leaves 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Roast both cashews and foxnut/makhana in 1 tesp ghee each separately and keep aside.
  2. Grind tomatoes, green chilies and ginger together.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and saute clove, star anise and cinnamon.
  4. Add tomato puree, salt and red chilli powder. Cook until oil oozes out.
  5. Add cream/ malai and cook on medium heat for about a minute.
  6. Add 1 cup of water. Give a boil.
  7. Add roasted cashews , foxnuts and boiled peas.
  8. Add crushed Kasoori methi and simmer for 4-5 minutes.
  9. Add chopped green coriander leaves and stop heat.
  10. Serve hot with chapatis.
