It is a south indian dal very tasty, tangy, goes well with rice and roti

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Tender tamarind leaves 1/2 cup
  2. 2 green chilles
  3. 1 cup toor dal cooked with little haldi
  4. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  5. Hing as per choice
  6. curry leaves a few
  7. Coriander leaves as required
  8. Salt to taste
  9. 1 tsp oil
  10. MIx the following: Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  11. Jeera 1 tsp
  12. Urad dal 1/2 cup
  13. Chana dal 1/2 cup
  14. Red chilli 1 or 2

Instructions

  1. Take a kadai, add oil, seasoning, hing, curry leaves, coriander leaves, tamarind leaves, haldi and green chilli.
  2. Fry for a minute, add chilli powder, cooked dal, fry for a minute and add water, salt. Let it simmer.
  3. This dal is made thicker. If you want you can adjust water and make it a little thin. Serve hot.
