ABOUT Sweet Potato Bonda in Appe Pan RECIPE

A guiltfree, sweet potato bondas made with very less oil with no compromise in taste. Whenever you crave for munching any snack make this and relish with hot chai!!

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Pressure cooked sweet potatoes 3
  2. Finely chopped onions 3 table spoons
  3. Fresh green peas 3 table spoons
  4. Grated green chillies and ginger 1 tea spoon each
  5. Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
  6. Red chilli powder 1/2 tea spoon
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Coriander leaves few
  9. For batter:
  10. Besan flour 4 table spoons
  11. Rice flour 2 tea spoons
  12. Corn flour 1 table spoon
  13. Ajwain 1/4 tea spoon
  14. Salt to taste
  15. Asafoetida powder 1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Pressure cook the sweet potatoes to soft and mash them.
  2. In a broad bowl add all the ingredients given for batter, mix well, add water and bring in to thick batter.
  3. In a pan heat 3 table spoons oil, fry onions onions, green chillies, ginger, green peas adding salt, turmeric and red chilli powder.
  4. Now add the mashed sweet potatoes.
  5. Mix them well and finally add finely chopped coriander leaves.
  6. Make gooseberry size balls from this stuff.
  7. Heat an appe pan and in all craters pour half teaspoon of oil.
  8. Dip the balls in to the batter, coat them well with the batter and place them on the craters
  9. Wait till they get fried well.
  10. Flip off to the other side and drizzle few drops of oil around.
  11. After 3 minutes take them out and serve hot.
