ABOUT Kumquat Marmalade RECIPE

Bitter-sweet and tart, this is not a marmalade for the faint hearted

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 2 cups chopped kumquats
  2. 1/2 cup Sugar
  3. 1 vanilla bean
  4. 1/2 cup water
  5. 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  6. 1/4 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. In a large pan add the cinnamon, sugar, scrapped vanilla bean and the bean, salt, water and kumquats. Mix well and let it sit in the pan for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Turn on the heat and bring it to a boil. Turn down and let it simmer for 20 minutes or until the liquid has thickened and reduced.
  3. Turn off the heat and let the jam cool. Store in a sterilized container.
