Vermicelli Banana Custard

ABOUT Vermicelli Banana Custard RECIPE

A tasty dessert with vermicelli, banana and custard powder, topped with custard sauce.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Vermicelli 1 1/4 cup
  2. Nendran Banana 1
  3. Milk 500 ml
  4. Custard powder 2 tsp
  5. Cardamom (crushed) 2
  6. Sugar 4 tbsp or as req.
  7. Ghee 1 tbsp
  8. Cashews a few
  9. Pomegranate for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a nonstick kadai, pour the ghee and roast the cashews, vermicelli, and chopped/sliced banana, separately, remove and set them aside.
  2. In the same kadai, pour 1.5 cups of milk, add 2 tbsp sugar, and stir well.
  3. Simultaneously, dissolve a tsp of custard powder in 1/4 cup milk and add this to the kadai, and keep on stirring to avoid lumps.
  4. Now add the vermicelli, and cook cook for a few mins without stopping the stirring.
  5. When the mix is thickened, add the cardamom, mix and switch off the stove.
  6. Now, in a greased plate, pour the vermicelli mix as one layer, and banana and cashews as the 2nd layer.
  7. Again spread the vermicelli mix for the layer. Allow to cool or refrigerate. Slice into pieces.
  8. Custard Sauce: In the kadai, pour 1/3 cup milk, 2 tbsp sugar, and stir until it dissolves.
  9. In a bowl, dissolve a tsp of custard powder in 1/3 cup milk and add this to the kadai. Keep on stirring until a Sauce like consistency is reached.
  10. Finally, while serving, arrange the vermicelli banana pieces, pour some custard Sauce over them, and sprinkle pomegranate on top. The dish is ready!!
