ABOUT Chicken momos with Red chilli chutney RECIPE

A Tibetan delight, they are an extremely famous street food these days in many parts of India.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Minced chicken 200 gm
  2. Chopped onion 1
  3. Chopped Green Chillies 2
  4. Chopped spring onions 1 tbsp
  5. Ginger-garlic paste 1 tsp
  6. Butter 1 tbsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. For the outer dough:
  9. 500 gms maida/ flour
  10. Water as required
  11. 1 tsp Salt
  12. Red chilli chutney:
  13. 4-5 dry red chillies
  14. 1 tsp Salt
  15. 1/4 tsp sugar
  16. 1 tsp chopped garlic
  17. 1 tsp chopped ginger
  18. 1/2 tsp soya sauce
  19. 1 tsp ketchup
  20. 1/2 tsp ajinamoto (optional)
  21. 2 tsp refined oil

Instructions

  1. Mix all the first listed 7 ingredients together and keep it aside.
  2. Now make a dough with the maida, water and salt.
  3. Roll out the dough very thin into small rounds, fill each round with a little mixture. Crimp on one side and stick the other side of the round to get this shape.
  4. Steam the momos in a steamer for 20 minutes . (I have used a bamboo steamer for the same.)
  5. Soak the red chillies in hot water for 30 minutes. Then remove the chillies and grind them into a paste.
  6. Heat some pan with oil, add the chopped garlic and ginger. Then add the red chillies paste and the rest of the ingredients, cook for sometime till its done.
  7. Serve the chutney with the hot momos.
