ABOUT Spicy Baby Potatoes RECIPE

Spicy baby potatoes is a quick and aboslutely delicious recipe of baby potatoes tossed in chilli based freshly ground spices and tamarind pulp.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Baby potatoes boiled and peeled 18-20
  2. Mustard seeds/Rai 1 tsp
  3. Cumin seeds /Jeera 1 tsp
  4. Curry Leaves 10- 12 No.
  5. Dried red Chillies 2-3 No.
  6. Urad dal 1 Tsp
  7. Red chilli powder 1 Tsp
  8. Turmeric 1/2 Tsp
  9. Coriander powder 1/2 Tsp
  10. Salt As per taste.
  11. Tamarind pulp 3 Tbsp
  12. Oil 2 Tbsp
  13. For Ground Masala:
  14. Cumin seeds/Jeera 1 Tsp
  15. Coriander seeds/Saboot Dhaniya 2 Tsp
  16. Whole red chillies 2-3 No.
  17. Black pepper whole 4-5 No.

Instructions

  1. Soak the Tamarind in a warm water for 10 minutes.
  2. Squeeze the soaked tamarind to get the pulp and keep aside.
  3. Dry roast the ingredients mention under ground masala .
  4. Cool and grind to a coarse powder.
  5. In a pan heat Oil,add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
  6. When it crackles add urad dal,fry for few seconds till it turns golden in color.
  7. Add curry leaves and whole red chillies,fry for a minute.
  8. Add boiled potatoes,saute well for few seconds.
  9. Then add red chilli powder,Turmeric,coriander powder,salt,saute for another minute.
  10. Add tamarind pulp,saute for few seconds.
  11. Finally add ground masala and mix well .
  12. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
