ABOUT Capsicum Coriander Chutney RECIPE

This is a blend of capsicum,coriander,mint leaves with a typical south indian tempering.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Capsicum-2, chopped
  2. Coriander-1/2 cup, finely chopped
  3. Mint leaves-10-12
  4. Onion-1, sliced
  5. Green chili-2, chopped
  6. Tamarind-1 small ball (gooseberry sized)
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Oil-1/2 tbsp
  9. Mustard seeds-1 tsp
  10. Urad daal-1 tsp
  11. For tempering:
  12. Oil-1/2 tbsp
  13. Mustard seeds-1 tsp
  14. Urad daal-1 tsp
  15. Curry leaves-8-10 leaves

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds. Add urad daal and saute until golden brown .Add onions and green chilies.
  2. Saute for a minute .Add capsicum and tamarind.
  3. Saute till white spots appear on capsicum.
  4. Finally add coriander and mint.Saute for a minute and switch off gas.
  5. Allow mixture to cool. Grind mixture with salt to smooth chutney
  6. Heat oil in a pan. Splutter mustard seeds,urad daal and curry leaves.
  7. Pour the tempering over chutney.Serve with dosa,idli,dhokla etc.
