ABOUT Spinach rice RECIPE

It's a challenge when the husband says, "just give me a box of some spiced rice and no curries but it should be tasty".. so here is something to include the goodness of the veggies and deliciousness of the spices.. "SPINACH RICE"..

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Spinach - 1 cup
  2. Pudina (chopped) - 1 tbsp
  3. Corriander leaves (chopped) - 1 tbsp
  4. Green chillies - 2
  5. Onion (chopped) - 1
  6. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  7. Chilly powder - 1 tsp
  8. Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  9. Salt
  10. Refined oil/ghee
  11. Cooked rice - 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Blanch the spinach leaves and drain themNow make a paste of it with pudina, coriander leaves and green chillies. Keep aside.
  2. Heat a kadhai with ghee/refined oil. Then add the chopped onion and saute till golden brown.
  3. Now add the ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell is gone. Then add the powdered masalas, salt and stir.
  4. After a few minutes, then add the spinach paste and saute till the masala leaves oil. Then add the cooked rice and mix. Check for salt and serve.
