Instructions
For the loaf
Mix the yeast and sugar in little water and milk mixture and mix well and keep aside until the yeast becomes frothy.
In a bowl add the maida, salt and mix well.
Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and mix well.
Now add the butter and knead well for about 10 minutes until the dough is not sticky anymore and is smooth. It should bounce back when touched with a finger.
Now keep the dough to rise for 1 hour or until double in size in a well oiled bowl and cover it with a wet towel or cling wrap it.
When the dough has doubled in size, punch the air out and knead for 2 minutes.
Roll the dough into rectangular shape and roll it into a log tightly.
Transfer the dough to a loaf tin and keep it for a second rise about 30 to 40 minutes.
After the second rise milk wash the loaf and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
Allow the loaf to cool completely on a rack.
For the filling.
In a bowl mix the minced garlic with the melted butter and keep aside.
After the loaf has cooled down completely, transfer it to a chopping board and cut the bread diagonally in rows across the top down to 2 cm above the base in depth. Please take care not to cut through to the base of the bread.
Holding the bread gently cut through in rows in the other direction to create diamond shaped wedges.
Transfer it to a tray lined with aluminium foil.
Drizzle half of the garlic butter between the wedges.
Next add the pizza sauce between the wedges.
Follow with the onion, tomatoes, and cheese.
Finally drizzle the remaining garlic butter and top with the herbs.
Cover the loaf with aluminium foil and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes and remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes.
Your yummy cheesy pizza and garlic pull apart bread is ready.
