ABOUT milk cake RECIPE

a delicious sweet made with just a few ingrediants, primarily milk and sugar and has a touch of sourness to it

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Milk 1 litre
  2. Curd 3 tablespoon
  3. Ghee 3 tablespoon
  4. Pinch of alum powder
  5. Sugar or as per taste 1 small bowl
  6. Milk 1 tablespoon
  7. Almonds for garnishing

Instructions

  1. In a heavy pan add milk and boil it over high flame stirring continuously
  2. Once the milk starts to boil, add ghee, curd and alum powder
  3. Cook this mixture on medium flame untill it becomes thick rabdi like consistency stirring occasionally
  4. Now decrease the flame, add sugar and cook until the mixture becomes brown in colour
  5. Once it is brown and leaves the sides of pan, turn off the flame and add 1 tbsp milk ( it stops the cooking process and milk cake turns out very soft)
  6. Pour this mixture on a greased square tray and leave for 30 minutes
  7. Allow it to set in room tempreture
  8. Cut the pieces in desired shape, garnish with almonds and serve

Hey, can Alum poweder be replaced with something else, like lemon juice
