ABOUT Semolina Sandwich Bread RECIPE

Semolina bread has a rich flavour and a chewy texture. Semolina flour has more protein than white flour.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Luke Warm Water 1 1/2cup
  2. Instant Yeast 1 teaspoon
  3. Semolina/Sooji/Rava 3 1/4 cup
  4. Sugar 1 Tablespoon
  5. OliveOil/Refined Oil 1/4 cup
  6. Salt 1 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Pour the water into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the yeast,semolina,sugar,olive oil and salt .
  3. Mix with rubber spatula until a rough dough is formed.
  4. Wait for 5 minutes.
  5. Lightly dust the counter with semolina,take out the dough from the bowl.
  6. Knead it until it is smooth,elastic.This will take about 10-12 minutes.
  7. Transfer the dough to lightly oiled bowl .Cover and leave to rise until it's double in size.
  8. Lightly greased a Pullman loaf PAN with oil.
  9. Dust the counter with semolina and form the dough into a loaf .
  10. Place the loaf into the PAN and cover with cling wrap for another rise.
  11. Let the loaf rise until it's crown just above the rim of the PAN.
  12. Preheat oven to 190*C for 10 minutes.
  13. Place the PAN on the middle rack of the oven .
  14. Bake until the loaf pulls away from the sides of the PAN and the crust is brown.It will take 35 to 40 minutes.
  15. Remove loaf from the PAN when it's completely cool down.
