ABOUT Rice flour wada/puri RECIPE

Traditionally eaten with chicken masala. Hence also called chicken wada. Popular in costal areas like Konkan and Goa.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Rice flour 1cup
  2. Urad dal flour 1/2 cup
  3. Besan(chickpea flour ) 2 tbsp
  4. Chilli powder 1-2 tsp
  5. Turmeric powder 1tsp
  6. Coriander powder 1tsp
  7. Cummin powder 1/2 tsp
  8. Oil 2 tsp
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Boiling water 1 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Mix together all the ingredients except water
  2. Slowly pour boiling water over the flour and mix well
  3. Let it cool enough for handling
  4. Knead into firm dough using little water and oil
  5. Take a polythene paper. Grease it.
  6. Take dough about the size of a large lemon.
  7. Flatten it on greased paper with palm and fingers. (It should not be very thick or thin)
  8. Deep fry in hot oil till it puffs up
  9. Serve hot with chicken or any other gravy of your choice
