Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Cornflour 50gms
  2. Sugar 1 cup
  3. Ghee 5-6 tablespoons
  4. Food Color (orange)
  5. Essence (orange)
  6. Lime juice 1 teaspoon
  7. 100 ml water (cornflour mixture)
  8. 125 ml water (sugar mixture)
  9. Chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar and water (125ml), heat it and let it simmer. Keep stirring.
  2. Once the mixture comes to a boil, add lime juice.
  3. In another bowl, mix cornflour and water (100ml). Make sure there are no lumps.
  4. Add this mixture to the sugar mixture. Keep stirring on a low flame.
  5. Once it starts to thicken, add ghee, 1 tsp at a time.
  6. Once all the ghee is added, remove from flame. Add the food color, essence and chopped nuts. Mix well.
  7. Put it back on the flame. Keep stirring while the ghee starts oozing out.
  8. To check if it is ready, put a small amount of mixture in a greased thali. If it forms a ball, then it is ready. If not then cook for some more time.
  9. Once cooked, take it out into a greased thali and level it well.
  10. Cut into pieces once it cools down completely.
