ABOUT Cauliflower with coconut and poppy seeds RECIPE

A very easy to make yet delicious no onion garlic dry cauliflower curry. Coconut and poppy seeds makes the dish superbly delicious.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Cauliflower 1 medium
  2. Green chillies 3-4
  3. Poppy seed or khaskhas 2 tablespoon
  4. Ginger 1/2 inch piece
  5. Tomato 1 chopped
  6. Coconut 1/4 cup grated
  7. Mustard oil 3 tablespoon
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  10. Coconut milk 1/4 cup
  11. Lemon juice 1 teaspoon
  12. Chopped coriander leaves 2 tablespoon
  13. Slit green chilli and coriander leaves to garnish

Instructions

  1. Soak the poppy seeds in hot water for 10 minutes. .
  2. Cut the cauliflower in small florets. Wash well, drain and keep aside.
  3. Grind green chilli, soaked poppy seeds, ginger, tomato and coconut altogether. Make a smooth paste.
  4. Heat oil in a pan. Add the chopped cauliflower. Fry until the cauliflower changes it's colour.
  5. Add salt, ground spices, chopped coriander leaves and turmeric powder. You can also add little sugar if you like.
  6. Saute till it dried up completely. Stir continuously.
  7. Add coconut milk, cover and cook on low flame till the cauliflower becomes tender and dried up.
  8. You can add more coconut milk if require.
  9. Remove from heat and add lemon juice. Mix well. Taste and adjust the seasoning.
  10. Garnish with slit green chilli and coriander leaves.
