ABOUT Pearl Millet Dosa RECIPE

A healthy gluten free dosa rich in minerals and proteins. Easy to digest and can be consumed even by diabetics, those who wish to reduce weight.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Pearl millet - 1 cup
  2. Black gram - 1.5 cups
  3. Rice (raw) - 2.5 cups
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Oil for frying.

Instructions

  1. Soak blackgram,pearl millet,rice for 3hours in sufficient water.
  2. After three hours, grind it into a smooth paste in a wet grinder. Add water to get a consistency as that of dosa batter.
  3. Transfer the above batter into a large vessel. Add salt and mix it well.
  4. Heat a cast iron pan or a flat non-stick pan over a medium flame. Smear some oil over it.
  5. Spread the dosa batter on the pan in a circular way.
  6. Cook the dosa on a medium flame. Drizzle some oil on top and edges.
  7. Cook it until its base becomes golden and crisp.
  8. Now turn the dosa carefully and fry the other side also.
  9. Once it is cooked evenly,fold it carefully.Transfer it into a serving plate.
  10. Serve hot with coconut chutney/avakaya(mango pickle).
