Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. FOR THE CUSTARD....
  2. full fat milk 1 litre
  3. Custard powder 1/2 cup heaped
  4. Condensed Milk 1 tin
  5. FOR ASSEMBLING...
  6. Fruits cut into bite size pieces 3 cups
  7. Jello of choice 2 packs
  8. Some sprinklers to top
  9. Vanilla cake readymade one cut into big pieces (I used 4 such big readymade slices)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the custard by boiling the milk first.
  2. After it comes to a rolling boil, simmer it on a low flame until 20 minutes.
  3. After the stipulated time, take out some of the milk about half a cup in a bowl and mix the custard powder until lump free.
  4. Now add this back to the simmering milk along with the condensed milk and keep stirring.
  5. Increase the flame to high and keep stirring until desired thickness is attained.
  6. Let it cool.
  7. Chill the custard in the refrigerator for an ample amount of time.
  8. Cut the fruits into bite size pieces and assemble this trifle just before serving.
  9. It should be kept in mind otherwise the presence of fruits can make the custard watery.
  10. As soon as it is assembled, serve it right away.
  11. In a serving bowl or shot glasses, arrange the cake pieces.
  12. Top that with the fruit layer.
  13. Finally top it up with the thick custard layer.
  14. In the same way do it until you get the layers.
  15. Or else make it in a big serving dish just as i did and it will have just 3 layers. The choice is all yours.
  16. Top it up with some fancy sprinklers for some added glitz and glamour to the stunning dish.
