ABOUT DALIA KHEER RECIPE

A very healthy option for breakfast.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 litre milk
  2. 1/2 cup roasted dalia
  3. 3 tablespoon sugar
  4. pinch of elaichi powder
  5. 3 finely chopped pista
  6. 3 finely chopped badam
  7. 5 finely chopped kishmish
  8. 1/2 teaspoon chironji

Instructions

  1. In a heavy bottomed pan, boil milk.
  2. Cook on low heat, until it becomes half the quantity.
  3. Roast dalia on low heat, stirring continuously.
  4. Roast it until it becomes light in weight and light brown in colour.
  5. Now add dalia to the boiled milk.
  6. Mix nicely, cover and cook further for 6 - 8 minutes on low heat, until the dalia becomes soft.
  7. Then add sugar and cook further for 5 - 7 minutes.
  8. When done add elaichi powder.
  9. Take it out in a serving bowl.
  10. Garnish with chopped nuts and serve hot.
  11. You can have it cold also.
  12. If you like you can add pinch of saffron.
