ABOUT Stuffed onion 65 RECIPE

It is a tasty delicious vegetarian starter.Chicken 65 is a femous dish from chennai.Here I had replaced chicken with stuffed onion.

Ingredients Serving: 7

  1. Baby onions 7
  2. Oil for frying onions
  3. For masala stuffing
  4. coriander powder 1 tbsp
  5. RED CHILLI POWDER 1 TBSP
  6. Dry mango powder 1 tbsp
  7. Roasted cumin powder 2 tsp
  8. Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  9. Chat masala 1 tsp
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Mustard Oil 1.5 tbsp
  12. Ginger garlic green chilli paste 1/2 tbsp
  13. For batter
  14. All purpose flour 2 tbsp
  15. cornflour 1 tbsp
  16. Red chilli powder 3/4 tbsp
  17. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  18. Salt to taste
  19. Water to make the batter
  20. For 65 masala
  21. Oil 1.5 tbsp
  22. Whole Cumin seed 1 tsp
  23. Whole mustard seed 1 tsp
  24. chopped onion 2 tbsp
  25. Salt to taste
  26. Ginger garlic green chilli paste 1/2 tbsp
  27. Curry Leaves 2 tbsp
  28. Beaten yogurt 4 tbsp
  29. Red chilli powder 1/3 tbsp
  30. Chopped coriander leaves 3 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Take washed peeled onion.
  2. Give them a '+' sign cut
  3. Take all masala for stuffing in a bowl and give it a good mix.
  4. Stuff the masala mix inside the cut part of the onions.
  5. Make the smooth batter in a bowl.
  6. Heat the oil in pan.
  7. Coat the onion with it and deep fry in hot oil very gently.
  8. When it become golden brown, take out the onion from oil into a tissue paper.
  9. Remove extra oil from pan and add whole cumin and mustered seed.
  10. When crackling add chopped onion.
  11. Add salt to taste.
  12. After 2-3 minutes add ginger garlic green chilli paste and saute it.
  13. Add curry leaves and saute it.
  14. Add beaten yogurt.
  15. Add red chilli powder.
  16. Stir the gravy and put the lid on it.
  17. After few minutes,open it and add fried baby onions.
  18. At the end add chopped coriander leaves on it and when it is completely dry, switch of the flame.
  19. Serve it hot as a snack or starter.
