Moong dal is one of the most commonly used lentils in India, there are many recipes made from moong dal like chila, snacks etc. Some people don't like moong dal but trust me once you make this recipe you are not going to hate moong dal. It is must try recipe for all kachori lovers

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 200 gm maida
  2. Oil 2 tsp
  3. 50 gm moong dal soaked in water for 3 hours
  4. Asfoetida 1/2 tsp
  5. Saunf 1 tsp
  6. Garam masala 1 tsp
  7. Chaat masala 1 tsp
  8. Oil 1 tablespoon for frying
  9. Red chilli powder
  10. Dhania powder

Instructions

  1. Take maida add oil in it, add pinch of salt, knead the soft dough using water. Cover the dough with a muslin cloth and keep aside for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan, add asafoetida, saunf, moog dal, salt, garam masala, chaat powder, red chilly powder, dhania powder, turmeric, mix well and saute them. Cook on a medium flame for few seconds .
  3. Take maida dough and make round balls, roll out each portion of the dough into a 75mm (3") diameter circle .
  4. Place one portion of the moong dal mixture filling in the centre. Bring together all the sides ,seal it tightly .
  5. Ensure the filling does not spill out. Gently press the center of the kachori with your thumb .
  6. Heat oil in a deep non stick kadhai on a medium flame and deep dry.
  7. 3 kachoris at a time on a slow flame for 5 minutes.
  8. Turning them in between till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides .
  9. Kachoris are ready to serve. Serve it with a red chilli chutney or any of your choice. Enjoy it wit a hot cup of tea or coffee.
