ABOUT Raw Chickpea And Peas Salad ( Kachi Chana Matar Salad) RECIPE

It is a low fat, rich in protein and high fiber salad. It is made of soaked channa and peas with some vegetables and seasoned with spices and freshly squeezed lemon juice gives a tangy taste and flavor. It is an extremely satisfying, filling and delicious salad. It is perfect as a salad or a side dish too.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Brown channa- ½ cup
  2. Green peas - ½ cup
  3. Cucumber- 1 small chopped
  4. Red cabbage- ¼ cup sliced
  5. Onion- 1 chopped
  6. Green and red chillies- 2-3 chopped
  7. Tomato- 1 chopped
  8. Ginger- 1 inch chopped finely
  9. Coriander leaves few chopped
  10. Mint leaves few chopped
  11. Lemon juice of 1 lemon
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak the channa and peas for 3-4 hours or overnight. Drain them well and add them to a mixing bowl.
  2. Make ready all the ingredients and take them in a mixing bowl and mix them well.
  3. Just before serving add the salt, pepper and squeeze the lemon juice, mix well and serve.
