ABOUT Sooji Dahi Bhalla or Sooji Dahi Vada RECIPE

Vadas have always made a special place on our Holi menu. You might have made the usual vada from dal , but this time try a new and quick variation of scrumptious Sooji dahi vada. It is very easy to prepare it and is a very tempting indeed unlike dal vadas. I have used appam pan to make it more healthy Here is a quick and easy recipe with detailed method of preparation to make Mouth drooling Sooji Dahi vada at your home.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 750gm Curd
  2. 250gm Roasted Semolina or Rava
  3. 2tbs Sugar Powder
  4. 12-15 Raisins
  5. Salt to taste
  6. 1 Green Chilli Finely Chopped
  7. 2tbsp Fresh Chopped Coriander Leaves
  8. 1/2tsp Chat Masala
  9. 1/2tsp Cumin Powder
  10. Sweet Tamarind, Jaggery Chutney Green Chutney for garnish

Instructions

  1. Take semolina in a bowl, add 1 cup of curd and water as required. Mix it well. Add salt and green chillies. Mix all the ingredients well. Keep the batter aside for 10-15 minutes to set.
  2. Brush some oil and heat appam pan. Put suji mixture in it and press raisins in between of mixture, cover the lid and cook it on low flame for 5 to 7 mins from both the sides.
  3. Now take the vadas and put them in a bowl of water so that they become soft and fluffy. Secondly, the oil from them gets drained but the vadas should be submerged well in water.
  4. By then the vadas will become soft and fluffy, squeeze and drain them out from the water and place them in the serving plate.
  5. Add sugar in 500gm curd, mix it well. Firstly pour some curd over the vadas followed by sweet chutney, spicy green coriander chutney. Now sprinkle some roasted cumin powder, chat masala onto dahi vada. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve this scrumptious semolina dahi vadas straightaway.
