ABOUT Instant kharvas RECIPE

Usually kharvas is made from colostrum milk or cheek, but its difficult to get it everywhere. So this is an instant kharvas recipe out of all easily available ingredients & trust me it was actually much similar to the traditional one.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Full cream milk 1 cup
  2. Hung curd 5 tbsp
  3. Milk powder 4 tbsp
  4. Jaggery 1/2 cup grated ( or as per taste)
  5. Cardamom powder to add some flavour
  6. Cumin powder a pinch ( optional)

Instructions

  1. Take a bowl, add milk, curd, milk powder, jaggery & cardamom powder, mix it properly with the help of spoon or hand grinder, taking care that no lumps are formed ( hand grinder worked best for me).
  2. Now take that mixture & add some cardamom and cumin powder on top of it.
  3. Next step is to cook this in pressure cooker for 5 -6 whistles on a medium flame.
  4. Open it only after all steam escapes on its own.
  5. Initially it will be of bit runny consistency (jelly like) very soft.
  6. Refrigerate it for 2-3 hrs.
  7. Now cut in shapes of your choice and serve chilled, best for your instant kharvas cravings.
