A simple dry curry to go with your spicy sambar rice

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Potatoes - 3
  2. Green Chillies - 2, finely chopped
  3. Ginger - finely chopped, 1 tsp
  4. Channa dal - 1 tsp
  5. urad dal - 1 tsp
  6. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  7. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  8. Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  9. Cumin seed powder - 1/2 tsp
  10. Salt - to taste
  11. Oil - 1 tbsp
  12. Juice of half a lemon

Instructions

  1. Pressure cook the potatoes for 3-5 whistles. Once cooled, dice them and keep aside.
  2. In a pan, heat a little oil, and temper with mustard seeds, green chillies, ginger, urad dal, channa dal, turmeric powder and asofoetida.
  3. Throw in the potatoes, add red chilli powder, cumin powder and salt.
  4. Toss it well and let it cook for a minute.
  5. Remove from the heat, squeeze some lemon juice, mix well and serve.
