ABOUT Steamed Kerala Banana RECIPE

A very healthy & easy recipe for toddlers and adults. Also called Pazham nurruku or Pazham puzhungiyathu in Kerala. It is an important part in the Onam sadya.

  1. Nendram pazham - 3

Instructions

  1. Take the Nendram pazham & wash them. This is the picture of the Nendram pazham.
  2. Cut it into small pieces
  3. Now take a pressure cooker and heat it. Put a little water in it.
  4. Now take a vessel & put the banana pieces in it. & put inside the pressure cooker
  5. Cover with lid and steam it for about 10 minutes. Do not put whistle over it.
  6. You can steam it in the idli stand also
  7. Serve warm.Can be had plain or with puttu.
