Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Chole 1 cup
  2. Potato 1
  3. Onions 3
  4. Tomatoes 3
  5. beetroot 1 small piece
  6. Garlic 8-10 cloves
  7. Green chilli 3
  8. Ginger 1 small piece
  9. Fresh coriander leaves 1 tbsp
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Red chilli powder 1 and 1/2 tsp
  12. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  13. Dry Coriander powder 1 tbsp
  14. Hing 1/2 tsp
  15. Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  16. water 2 + 1 glass
  17. oil 2 tbs + ghee 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Take onions tomatoes green chilli garlic ginger potato and coriander.
  2. Take 1 bowl chickpea wash and soak in the hot water for 2 hours.
  3. Now take soaked chickpea and potato into the cooker add 2 glasses of water and give 3 to 4 whistles. After 10 minutes drain excess water and peel the potatoes.
  4. Now take the grated onion, tomato puree, crushed chilli garlic and ginger ,boiled chickpeas and potatoes .
  5. Take 1 tsp grated beetroot for nice colour and keep aside.
  6. Add 2 tbsp oil and 1 tbsp ghee in a kadai. When hot add cumin seeds in it and when seeds crackle, add hing and turmeric powder in it.
  7. Now add grated onion and saute for 6 to 7 minutes.
  8. Now add tomato puree and saute for 10 minutes more. Keep stirring
  9. Now add crushed chilli garlic and ginger paste and saute again.
  10. Add grated beetroot and saute.
  11. After 5 minutes the gravy will begin to release oil
  12. Now add red chilli powder dry coriander powder and salt keep stirring and saute the mixture.
  13. Your gravy is ready.
  14. Now add mashed potatoes in it.
  15. Add chickpeas and add a little water.
  16. Mash some chickpeas for a thick gravy.
  17. Add 1 glass water and cook for 7-8 minutes
  18. Keep consistency of gravy according to your requirement
  19. Garnish with coriander leaves
  20. Serve with onion slices
