ABOUT Sweet Potato Puri RECIPE

Made up of Whole wheat flour, puffed, crispy puri with the goodness of Sweet potato, a must try for weekend lunch!

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Whole Wheat Flour 1 1/2 cup
  2. Sweet potato boiled 1 small
  3. Rawa /semolina 1 tbsp
  4. Kashmiri chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  5. Curry powder 1/2 tsp
  6. Ajwain seeds / caraway seeds 1/3 tsp
  7. Salt
  8. Fresh coriander leaves chopped 1/3 tsp
  9. Oil or ghee 1 tsp
  10. Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp
  11. Dry mango powder 1/3 tsp
  12. Water 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Boil or steam sweet potato for 3 whistles , add water in the pressure cooker , sweet potatoes should be dry
  2. Peel sweet potato
  3. Let them cool down
  4. Grate the boiled sweet potatoes
  5. Now add atta , chilli powder , salt , ajwain seeds , coriander leaves
  6. Also add curry powder , aamchoor powder and oil or ghee
  7. Now add little water
  8. Knead a stiff dough
  9. Cover and keep aside for 20 to 30 mins
  10. Now make a roll of the dough and cut same size pieces (size of a lemon) with a knife
  11. Roll them with a little oil
  12. Roll all the puris , not very thin or big
  13. Heat enough oil in a kadai for deep fry the puris
  14. Wait until the oil is hot enough for frying
  15. Now add the puris and press them with the spatula softly
  16. They will be puffed up . Flip over
  17. Fry all the puris
  18. Serve hot with your favourite curry
