ABOUT Multigrain Khichadi and Veggie Pudalaa RECIPE

Pudalaa is very popular Snacks among Gujaratis. I have used different flours with Khichadi and veggies. My grand daughters are very fussy about food so we try to give them one pot meal / snacks.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Khichadi ( leftover / fresh).1 cup
  2. Besan 3/4 cup
  3. Yellow Maize flour 1/2 cup
  4. Wheat flour 1/4 cup
  5. Jowar flour 1/4 cup
  6. Soya flour 1/2 cup
  7. Rice flour 1/4 Cup
  8. Carrot grated 1
  9. Spinach leaves finely chopped 15 no.
  10. Tomato finely chopped 1 ( big ).
  11. Kasoori Methi 1 tbsp
  12. Curd 2 tsp
  13. Garlic crushed 1 tsp
  14. Ginger grated 1 tsp
  15. Ajwain 1/2 tsp
  16. Sesame seeds 1 tsp
  17. Dhania powder 1 tsp
  18. Chill powder 1 tsp
  19. Garam masaala 1 tsp
  20. Salt to taste.
  21. Oil for shallow frying
  22. Pickle masala ( for elders).

Instructions

  1. Blend Khichadi in blender.
  2. Add all flours and masala
  3. Add grated Carrot and Spinach too. Add curd and water to make batter
  4. Add 2 tsp hot oil in batter and mix we.
  5. Heat oil in a nonstick griddle. Pour a ladle full of batter. Cover with a lid and let it cook.
  6. Flip over as one side cooks. Apply oil to other side too.
  7. Cook both sides by pressing with spatula. Serve hot with pickle .
  8. Kids can eat it with tomato ketchup or plain with a cup of tea /Coffee.
