ABOUT Green Onion Chutney.. RECIPE

A tangy chutney that goes well with rice, rotis and even parathas. It also makes for a yummy spread on sandwiches and wraps or rolls.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Green onion bunch 1 large
  2. Tomato 1
  3. Red onion 1
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Coriander seeds 1 tbsp
  6. Garlic cloves 3-4
  7. Oil 1 tbsp
  8. FOR THE TEMPERING::
  9. oil 2 tbsp
  10. cumin seeds 1 tbsp
  11. Curry leaves a few
  12. Dry red chilli 3 to 4

Instructions

  1. Heat oil and saute the coriander seeds as well as the garlic cloves.
  2. After sauteeing for a while, add both the onions finely chopped to the pan.
  3. After 2 mins, add the chopped tomato. Cook until tender.
  4. After 10 mins, switch off and let it cool.
  5. Blend all into a smooth paste using as little water as possible.
  6. Temper the chutney and serve hot with plain rice and fish fry. It tastes heavenly.
