ABOUT Drumstick Prawn Curry RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup of Prawns
  2. 3 - 4 Drumsticks
  3. 1 pack of Maggie coconut powder
  4. 1 tsp crushed garlic
  5. 2-3 green chillies
  6. A few curry leaves
  7. 1 tbsp wheat flour
  8. Salt to taste
  9. 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  10. 1 tsp coriander powder
  11. 1/2 tsp fennel seed powder - saunf (optional)
  12. 2 tbsp oil
  13. 2 tbsp Coriander leaves - chopped

Instructions

  1. Wash and drain prawns and keep aside.
  2. Peel drumsticks,wash,chop and keep ready.
  3. Chop onions fine.
  4. Crush garlic
  5. Heat oil in a pot
  6. In hot oil splutter curry leaves, garlic, slit green chillies and add onions.Saute all for 2 minutes.
  7. Add salt, turmeric , cumin coriander powder and the chopped drumsticks.
  8. Now add the Prawns and a cup of water.
  9. Reduce heat,cover and cook for 7-8 minutes.
  10. Now mix the wheat flour in a cup of water as shown.
  11. Now mix Maggie coconut powder with 1- 2 glasses of water at room temperature to avoid lumps.
  12. Now add the prepared coconut milk to the cooking drumstick and prawns
  13. Simmer 2-4 minutes
  14. Sprinkle fennel seeds powder
  15. Add the flour mix prepared to thicken the curry slowly to avoid lumps while cooking
  16. Cook on low heat till the curry comes to a boil so that the flour is cooked well
  17. Keep covered for 5 minutes
  18. Take off heat
  19. Serve with a sprinkle of coriander and with boiled/steamed rice .
