ABOUT Whole Wheat Brown Bread RECIPE

Always wanted to try this at home but due to lack of time could not do that. Finally nailed it using olive oil and tastes same as i used to buy from my dietitian "THE WHOLE WHEAT BROWN BREAD". Feeling like i have won an award. Try this and you will never buy from market again.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Whole Wheat Flour- 2 cups
  2. Dry Instant yeast - 1 tbsp
  3. Sugar - 1 tbsp
  4. Salt - 1 tbsp
  5. Olive oil - 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, add 1 tbsp instant dry yeast and 1 tbsp sugar.
  2. Add lukewarm water in it and keep aside for 10 minutes
  3. It will become frothy in that time.
  4. In a big pan, sieve whole wheat flour, add salt and 1 tbsp olive oil.
  5. Knead the dough with frothy yeast water. If required add bit of lukewarm water to knead it.
  6. Keep kneading the dough for 5 minutes, it will make it soft
  7. Place the dough in an air tight container for 2-3 hours (choose a bigger size because the dough rise double to its size )
  8. In winters, it can take up to 4-5 hours in that case you can place the container in warm place
  9. After 3-4 hours, you will see the dough has risen. Knead it again.
  10. Take a mould for bread, grease it with bit of olive oil
  11. Place the dough in it for one hour more.
  12. Polish it with olive oil and with white sesame seeds and oats (optional)
  13. Pre-heat the oven at 150 degree for 10 minutes
  14. Bake it for 25-30 minutes at 150 degree temperature
  15. You will see perfect brown risen bread
  16. Let it be cool and then demould it
  17. Cut in slices and use it in your daily meal.
