ABOUT Garlic Bread Sticks RECIPE

Have you ever tasted Dominos Garlic Bread Sticks, who doesn’t. My family loves these bread sticks. But Domino’s steadfastly refuses to deliver anything unless you order a pizza first. And tired of ordering a pizza every time as we are not very fond of their pizza I decided to make my own garlic bread.I started searching a good recipe for these and find this on the net. I experimented with yeast and finally made it using fresh yeast. It was perfect and delicious too.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Flour 3 cups
  2. Warm water 1 cup
  3. Fresh Yeast 20g
  4. Sugar 1 tbsp
  5. Salt 1tsp
  6. Butter or oil 2 tbsp
  7. Crushed garlic 1 tbsp
  8. Grated cheese 1/2 cup
  9. Italian seasoning 1tbsp

Instructions

  1. Melt butter add crushed garlic and keep aside for later use. In a mixing bowl mix together lukewarm water, yeast and sugar and keep aside for 10 minutes to frothe the yeast. Now mix 2 cups of flour and olive oil to the yeast mixture.
  2. Mix until well blended. Cover and keep aside on a warm place to rise. After about 1-2 hrs. (Depending on the weather) it is almost double in the size.
  3. To this dough add remaining flour, salt and half the garlic paste and knead the flour to a smooth dough. Again keep aside covered in a warm place for an hr.
  4. Grease a baking sheet with olive oil. Preheat the oven at 200C. Divide the dough into two and roll each on a floured counter top into a circle.Top with grated cheese and rest of the garlic paste. Fold the each into a semi circle shape.
  5. Transfer to the baking sheet spacing between the two. Smear the top with olive oil and Italian seasoning. Mark into strips with the help of a pizza cutter. Place in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes. Remove and serve hot.
  6. The bread looked and tasted “almost” like Domino’s. I simply pour olive oil and top up with more seasoning as Domino’s does.
