An irresistible delicacy which is a very innovative spicy and crunchy snack that features a wonderful balance of flavours ranging from tangy to spicy it will be enjoyed by young and old alike. Relish it as a snack or serve as a side with noodles.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 6-7 slices of bread
  2. 1 small onion, finely chopped
  3. 2 to 3 green chillies, finely chopped
  4. 10 to 12 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  5. 1/2 piece ginger (adrak) , finely chopped
  6. 3 tbsp finely chopped spring onions(optional)
  7. 1 small carrot, grated
  8. 1/2 cup crumbled paneer (cottage cheese)
  9. 1 grated sweet corn cob
  10. 2 tablespoon chopped coriander(dhania)
  11. Salt to taste
  12. For the batter
  13. 2 cups plain flour (maida)
  14. 1/2 cup rice flour (chawal ka atta)
  15. 3 tsp soy sauce
  16. 3 to 4 tsp vinegar
  17. a pinch of pepper powder
  18. oil to fry the manchurians
  19. For the coating :
  20. Tomato ketchup
  21. 1/2 tsp ginger (adrak)
  22. garlic (lehsun) paste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl,with a little water make the bread slices into a paste.
  2. Add all the ingredients to this and mix well.
  3. In a kadai,add oil.
  4. While the oil heats prepare the batter. Make small round balls of the bread mix
  5. Dip in the batter and fry on a low flame till golden brown.
  6. In a kadai add the fried bread manchurians,then add the sauce and coat evenly by tossing the manchurians. Do sprinkle a little pepper powder if you want that spicy mouthwatering taste.
  7. The hot little bread manchurians are ready to be served. Serve hot with a cup of tea or coffee or simply with a drink of your choice.
