ABOUT Hyderabadi Cut Mirchi Pakoras RECIPE

A popular appetizer/snack and a street food of Hyderabad loved by every local. It is a must have with the equally popular dum ki chai in every restaurant or hotel in the bylanes of the Old city. Spicy and tangy, this occupies a special place in every Hyderabadi's heart.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. For the coating.. you will need,
  2. Green broad non spicy chillies about 20
  3. Gram flour or besan 2 cups
  4. Chilli powder a tbsp
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Turmeric 1/2 a tsp
  7. Water as required to make a thick batter
  8. Baking soda a pinch
  9. For the stuffing... you will need
  10. Sesame seeds 2 tbsp
  11. Coriander seeds a tbsp
  12. Cumin seeds a tsp
  13. garam masala a tsp
  14. Chat masala a tsp
  15. Tamarind paste 2 to 3 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Wash and de seed the chillies and make a slit longitudinally.
  2. Roast the ingredients for the stuffing and grind it along with the tamarind pulp.
  3. Fill this stuffing in the chillies.
  4. Make a batter with the ingredients listed under it and keep aside for 10 mins until the oil gets heated.
  5. Deep fry these coated with the batter evenly on all sides on medium flame to allow it to cook really well from the inside also.
  6. Serve these crisp cut mirchi pakoras cutting them into small pieces with a hot cup of chai.

I doubt What type of kids love chilli pakoras... I guess this contest is for kids snacks not tea time snacks
