ABOUT Homemade bread with homemade orange plum marmalade RECIPE
Fresh smelling bread from your kitchen and lipsmacking orange plum marmalade is a treat on a lazy cold winter morning.

Ingredients Serving: 2
For the Bread-
2 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 and 1/2 tsp yeast
3- 4 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup lukewarm water
150- 200ml lukewarm milk
1 tsp Salt
2-3 tbsp butter/ oil
For Orange plum marmalade-
Oranges 8
Plums 750 gm
Orange zest 2 tbsp
Lemon zest 2 tbsp
Lemon juice 3 tbsp
Sugar 350gm
Instructions
In 1/4 cup lukewarm water add the yeast, 1 tbsp sugar and allow to proof. Let it cool for 10 mins.
Meanwhile sift the flour with salt and sugar.
To the flour mix add the yeast and mix using a wooden spatula.
Add the lukewarm milk in batches until you get a soft dough. The dough will be sticky don't add extra flour.
Now transfer the dough to a working surface and knead in pull and stretch method incorporating the butter slowly for minimum of 10 to 15 mins.
At the end of ten to fifteen minutes you will get a soft fluffy batter.
Place the dough in a well oiled bowl . Let it rise in a warm place for 75 to 90 mins.Cover it with a damp kitchen towel.
After the first rise , punch the dough gently to deflate it.
Roll it to log shape and place for second rise in ur greased bread pan. Brush the bread log with milk .Cover it with a damp kitchen towel. Allow it to rise for 30 - 45 mins.
Preheat the oven to 180c for 10 mins. Place the bread pan. Bake for about 28- 35 mins depending on your oven settings.
Once done brush the bread with butter and let it cool for 3-4 hrs before you enjoy.
Orange plum marmalade-
Dry and pit the plums. Cut the plums to quarter.Extract juice from the oranges.
Mix the plums, orange juice and sugar, orange zest, lemon zest and juice in a large bowl and leave it overnight.
Next day give a good mix with a dry spatula and pure the plums.
In a heavy bottom pan pour this orange plum pure and cook over slow flame.
In freezer place three to four saucers to check the consistency of the marmalade.
At the end of 50 mins to one hour you will notice glaze over the marmalade. Take out a saucer from the freezer and place a spoon of marmalade and leave it back again in the freezer for two minutes.
After two minutes if your marmalade isn't runny or doesn't drop from the freezer on turning upright your marmalade is ready.
Store in a sterilised mason jars.
