ABOUT Pine and Lemon Tea RECIPE

Pine needle tea is made from pine trees. It contains significant amounts of vitamin C (up to five times as much as a lemon). Moreover, it is refreshing and can be served as a decongestant.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Pine needles 1cup finely chopped
  2. Honey 4 tsp
  3. Water 2 cups
  4. Lemon juice 2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Put the water into a pot and bring it to boil or boil in a kettle.
  2. Chop a cup of pine needles finely. Add them to the boiling water in the pan.
  3. Reduce the heat and simmer the tea for 20 minutes. Don't heat any longer as the vitamin c is heat sensitive.
  4. Remove from the heat and allow to steep for another 20 minutes or overnight. The tea will gain a red tinge. Warm it up to serve or refrigerate if not drinking yet.
  5. Finally add lemon and honey at the time of serving.
