This is my first attempt at decorating a cake. Since my birthday and Christmas falls in the same week, I decided to bake an eggless whole wheat chocolate cake. My daughter wanted a Barbie cake and I made one for her

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Wheat flour -2 cups
  2. Baking powder -1 tsp
  3. Baking soda -2 tsp
  4. Coco powder - 9 tbspn
  5. Sugar or brown sugar -1 1/2 cup
  6. Wet Ingredients
  7. Milk -1 cup
  8. Water- 1. -cup
  9. Oil 1 cup
  10. Curd -1 cup (hung curd or thick curd)
  11. Vennila ess 2 tsp
  12. Hot coffee without sugar 1/2 cup
  13. 1tsp of instant coffee powder to 1/2 cup water
  14. Bring it to boil and add
  15. Whipping cream
  16. 2 - 50 grms whipping cream Powder
  17. 3drops of Amerigel colour burgandi

Instructions

  1. First, add all dry ingredients in a bowl and sieve at least twice
  2. Now mix all wet ingredients one by one in a separate bowl and mix well
  3. Mix instant coffee powder with water and boil it and add at least to wet ingredients and give a mix
  4. Now make a well in the dry ingredients and pour wet ingredients into it
  5. Mix well until the batter is well combined
  6. Add dry roasted and crushed nuts (optional).
  7. Pour it into greased and dusted barbie cake mould till 2/3
  8. Preheat your oven at 180 C for 15 min
  9. Now keep this Barbie cake mould on flat tray and start baking
  10. Check after 45 mins
  11. Bake till a tooth pick comes out clean
  12. For Whipping Cream - I used bluebird whipping cream powder
  13. You have instructions on the pack
  14. For this you need two 50gms packet to decor and for filling
  15. I used plain round nozzle to decorate
  16. And Amerigel colour burgandi 3drops for pink colour
  17. Add colour once cream is done and mix it with spatula to combine
  18. Used some edible silver choco balls to decor
  19. Take a doll and remove leg part and insert the doll on top of cake using an ice-cream stick
  20. If your doll height matches your cake exactly then just warp leg part of cake with cling wrap and insert it
  21. Remove the dress and decor the top part using icing as you wish
  22. Refrigerate the whipping cream for more than 30 min before decorating
  23. In the mean while take some cream and keep aside. make 3 or 4 layers of cake and apply whipping cream in-between and arrange it and give crumble coat completely and set it in the fridge for at least 30 min before decorating.
  24. After 30 mins take it out and start decorating with use and throw icing bag filled with whipping cream and fitted with a nozzle
  25. Once cake is done refrigerate till you use it
