The combination of cranberry and cream cheese stuffed in butter buns and glazed with sugar syrup is sure to win everyone's heart this Christmas.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. For butter buns -
  2. 2 cups All purpose flour
  3. 1 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
  4. 1 cup lukewarm water
  5. 2 tsp sugar
  6. 3 tbsp butter
  7. Little more flour for dusting
  8. For Filling -
  9. 60 gms cream cheese
  10. 30 gms cranberries
  11. For Syrup -
  12. 2/3 cup sugar
  13. 1/2 water
  14. For decoration -
  15. Few slivers of pistachio

Instructions

  1. Start by proofing yeast in lukewarm water and sugar. Leave it to prove 15 mins.
  2. Next add it all purpose flour and salt mix and knead till it forms sticky dough. Dust the counter top and knead the dough by stretch and fold method by adding butter around 2 tbsp.
  3. Knead till it forms a shiny soft dough. Keep this for proving for 1/2 hour. Once proofed, pinch small balls stuff cream cheese and cranberry and place it in a pan.
  4. Place it aside and again let it rise for 1/2 hour brush it with melted butter.
  5. Bake it in preheated oven at180 degree C for 35 mins or till it's golden brown. Make a syrup of water and sugar and keep aside. Once the buns are baked, brush butter and brush the sugar syrup and garnish with slivers of pistachio. Serve when still warm.
