ABOUT Banana Barfi RECIPE

This is my grandmother's recipe. This barfi is made of banana and fresh coconut.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Big ripe bananas 4 (approximately 2 cups mashed bananas)
  2. Sugar 2 cups
  3. Ghee 2 tablespoon
  4. Milk powder 4 tablespoon
  5. Fresh coconut (scraped) 1 cup
  6. Desiccated coconut for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Remove outer skin of ripe bananas
  2. Mash bananas with masher
  3. Heat ghee in a heavy bottom non stick pan
  4. Add mashed bananas
  5. Stir continuously till it becomes thick mass and little brown in colour
  6. Add coconut , milk powder and sugar
  7. Stir for few more minutes on moderate heat till it starts leaving edges.
  8. Turn the flame off and transfer the mixture on to a greased plate.
  9. Sprinkle some desiccated coconut and press lightly
  10. Leave for few minutes until it sets
  11. Cut into desired shapes and serve.
