ABOUT Koorka fry RECIPE

A Kerala dish. This s seasonal dish only available during these season. When I checked it s name I came to know that it is called Chinese potato in English. A very tasty side dish for rice.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Koorka 2 cups
  2. Onion 2
  3. Red chillies 4 or 5
  4. Chilli powder 1/4 tsp or according to taste
  5. Turmeric powder 2 pinch
  6. Salt
  7. Oil 3 tbsp
  8. Curry leaves

Instructions

  1. Clean the koorka and remove the skin. If it is big, cut into small pieces.
  2. Cook koorka with salt and turmeric adding enough water in a pan. Or take a pressure cooker, put koorka along with turmeric and salt. Add very little water. When the 1st whistle is about to come, switch off flame.
  3. Take a pan and put some oil. Then add chopped onion, red chillies and curry leaves. Fry well.
  4. Then add boiled and strained koorka. Fry . Then add chilli powder and enough salt. Fry for 3 to 4 min. Your dish is ready. This is a very good side dish for rice .
