ABOUT Fried Onion Chicken RECIPE

This delicious recipe goes best with rice or pulao.Its a quick make and a sure hit.Do try and let me know.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chicken 1 kg
  2. Onions 6pcs
  3. Tomatoes 4pcs
  4. Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  5. Green Chilli-4
  6. curry leaves -2 Sprigs
  7. Finely sliced ginger for garnish
  8. Spices
  9. Red chilli powder 1.5 tbsp
  10. Corriander powder 1.5 tbsp
  11. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  12. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Finely slice 4 of the onions and deep fry until brown in colour. Drain on a kitchen towel and allow it to cool.
  2. In a dry skillet, dry roast the spice powders until the raw smell of the spices fade away.Ensure you dry roast on a medium to low flame
  3. Grind together the fried onions and spices in a blender with a little water to make a fine paste.
  4. In a Wok, heat oil and saute the onions,(The remaining 2)curry leaves,ginger garlic paste until the raw flavour of the ginger garlic fades away,now add chicken and cook until the chicken changes colour.Add in the ground paste at this stage and cook for 10 min on medium flame.Once the chicken is 60%cooked add in the chopped tomatoes and add salt and cook on medium flame.You could add half cup water after the tomatoes have turned pulpy.
  5. After adding water you could either cook on low flame for 30 -45 min or pressure cook until just one whistle and cook for another 10 min on low flame.
  6. Garnish with some finely chopped ginger and serve hot with rice or pulao.
