Add flour in a big bowl
Add salt to it
Now slowly add required amount of water to form a soft dough as you make for chapati
Apply 1tsp of oil to the dough and let it rest for half an hour
For the filling
Place a pan on the gas stove on medium heat
Add the ghee to it
Let the ghee melt
Add the grated Coconut and stir it for 2-3 min on medium heat
Now add in grated jaggery to the pan and stir continuously so that the mixture doesn't stick to the pan
Fry till the all the ingredients combine properly
Now add the DryFruits of your choice
Add in the Cardamom(elaichi) powder and mix well
Keep stirring for 3-4 min on low flame
Now remove the pan from the gas stove and let it cool
For making modak
Take the dough and divide it into 25 small balls
With the help of rolling pin roll out small poori/circle of 2-3 inch diameter
Take the poori on the palm of your hand and fill 1 tbsp stuffing in the center
Now start making pleats at the edges of the poori once done bring them together and join them
You can also use the mould to make the modak
Make all the modak in the same way
For frying the modak, place a kadhai or pan on the gas stove
Add sufficient to fry the modaks
Once the oil is hot slow down the flame
Slowly add 4-5 modaks to the hot oil and fry them until golden brown
Modak can be served hot as well as cold
